Pistolstræde 6. The spectacle tailoring

In a classy, quaint courtyard just off Copenhagen's main pedestrian street, the discerning eye notices a small, discreet shop offering a remarkable service.
COLD HEGGEM Brilleskrædderiet established in 2010 is home to one of the few spots in the world where you can get personally fitted for a pair of handmade, tailored glasses.
Inside the intimate workshop and showroom, the friendly faces of Irene Heggem and Rasmus Cold greet you as they meticulously work on the next pair of frames. Notice the serenity in their small shop and marvel at their reverence for natural materials while you take in the scents of horn, leather and wood.
Irene's and Rasmus' sensitivity harks back to their Scandinavian childhood. Rasmus, born and raised in Denmark, masters a passionate knowledge of metal, wood, leather and horn. He sees with his fingers as he whittles away on a frame and feels with his eyes as he fits the frame to match the unique face in front of him.
Irene Heggem, born in the Norwegian highlands, possesses a gentle, powerful intuition. She assists Rasmus at the workbench and manages the day-to-day oversight and administration of the steady stream of orders from all over the world.

Together the couple unite their distinctive personalities to create functional art that rests on the faces of people from all corners of the world. The process entails analyzing a face from every angle, and talking through your own taste, preferences and style. Sketches and a test frame help to envision the final result even before the frame is crafted and fitted with lenses. The pleasure of touching and wearing a custom-made, buffalo horn frame is a deeply satisfying and personal experience. This is "slow optics" and gives you the opportunity to become the best version of yourself with a pair of one-of-a-kind glasses that compliment your individuality.
